You Were The Flame, I Was The Moth

We are two suns.

Like fire

We cast our rays upon the world

As if, the night will not come.

We are two campfires.

Like homes,

We warm the air

As if, the flame could not burn the skin.

We are two fireflies.

The night,

It surrounds us in darkness

Like a blanket covering our bodies.

We shine.

And as if, you are not the one

Who goes dim

My scar, will never fade

You are the candle

I am the wax

We are two sunflowers

Petals.

We bleed from our sepals

Even though, we will one day wither.

We are two fields of grass

Blades.

We slash through the wind

Even though, it cannot feel our blows.

We are two oak trees

Fire.

It licks our trunks,

Like a brand into our flanks.

We fall.

And even though, you are the one

Who cracks,

My wound, will never heal.

You are my roots,

I am your flower.

You were, then, a bird.

A swan.

You tried to reach the sky

Even though you were doomed to fall.

I am, now, a husk.

A zombie.

I dream of you every night

Even though, I know I have to wake up.

We were two bombs

Only,

It was you with the countdown

It was me with the blindfold

We tore apart

And even though, you were the one

Who burned,

This hurt, will never leave.

You were the flame.

I was the moth.
