The Bags That I Carried For Too Long

I must remember when I forget

The bags that I carried for too long

Where I am and where I've been

The weight of some bags I quickly regret

Though some clung tightly to old bonds

I must remember when I forget

There’s a time to restart and a time to reset

But there's often a fear of what's longed

I know where I am and where I've been

There’s no point in storing old debt

I must release what I have before dawn

I must remember when I forget

Look to see what is still overhead

Though in the past I do not belong

I know where I am and where I’ve been

All that once was is eventually dead

So never hold on to what’s gone

I must remember when I forget

Where I am and where I've been
