Waiting for Tomorrow

Yesterday lost in the mind of eternity, 

Waiting, wrestling, just to make it past today. 

Years ago, a girl dreamed of a future bright, 

Now she’s caught in a cycle, lost in today. 

A broken heart can never see past yesterday,

So no need to wish for tomorrow, only today. 

“Breathe,” God says, "Inhale, exhale, be still, 

I never ask for more than this gift, today."

Hungry for more, but left starving still, 

Daily bread alone can only suffice for today. 

How long, O Lord, till You return for me? 

I’m waiting for that blessed day to be today.
